Etimoloji
Almanca kökenli bir kelime olup, Eski Yunanca 'apothēkē' (depo, mağaza) sözcüğünden türemiştir. Türkçeye Fransızca 'apothicaire' üzerinden geçmiştir. 'Eczacı' anlamıyla 19. yüzyıldan itibaren kullanılmaya başlanmıştır.
